New Years San Kulpa (intention)

I want to work on a goal that is going to support me and give me a boost in the future. I want to put more effort into things and be my own person. This will help me with many things in school and with basketball for highschool. I want to demonstrate what I am capable of doing. So, once I get into the routine of doing this all the time I won't have trouble and make my life more difficult. I know I can do this and I'll do whatever it takes to achieve my goal.

Police shooting innocent people: How is the community affected by this?

Police shooting innocent people: How is the community affected by this?

By: Stephanie Perez
Date: 12-20-16

Taking lives of innocent people nowadays is little by little affecting our community in some way. The type of violence that's happening in this world is cruel and gruesome. The way policemen take lives of innocent people. Some of the people are frightened to even go to the store to get themselves some munchies. And some are even scared to put up there hoodie. When will this end?

The shootings yet haven't even stopped and for some people out there it's an everyday thing hearing about someone that just got shot. The problem here is the police officers taking lives of innocent people. But how does this affect our community?

According to a survey that was taken by a our community they each had something to say about this problem. It was asked if they were affected by the shootings and one stated “Yes because innocent people and especially my family, are at risk of being shot. An incident happened to me about a family member and I couldn't believe the police are harassing people because of their looks or clothing.” this person had said that they were affected by the police and they didn’t feel safe. I think this has a great meaning and that is that police are affecting our community and they are scared because of it. Many people that took the survey said they did not feel safe with the police 60 percent  said they didn’t and 40 percent said they did.

The shooting of Laquan Mcdonald occurred October 20, 2014 at 4100 South Pulaski Road, Chicago. The young teen had been shot by a police officer approximately 16 times. The young man had been shot because he was carrying a 3 inch knife. But that gave no right for the officer to shoot him as much as 16 times.

Then from a different perspective the teacher of Laquan had commented he was very respectful and not aggressive. Jason Van Dyke was the police officer who had shot Laquan. Although Jason Van Dyke was fired from the police department and never can get a badge. That doesn’t change the fact that also people were helping him get out of jail and bailed him out. What was the justice there but later on this week he was arrested for first degree murder.

But nothing less that is just a small portion of what’s happening in the nation did you know 1,026 people were killed by the police only this year. The year isn’t even over yet what’s happening to our rights and justice.

The solution to this would have to train the police with a longer amount of time. They need to be trained more and that's what our community also wants. Not only that they also need to be watching over the police more. The Laquan Mcdonald shooting has caused the community not to trust the police and the effect of this was people not feeling safe with the police.

All in all this does affect our community and our nation but no one seems to put a stop to this now with more people that read this article they will have to open their eyes.

Gifts🎁

The best gift I have ever recieved has to be my Lebron 12 basketball shoes.  I remember who got me them and it was my dad he had seen I wanted some lebrons that were maroon and ordered them online. Then he said that he couldn't find the shoes in store so that's why he ordered them. Those shoes were an amazing help to my basketball season and when I practice. That would have been the best gift ever. Also by the way I'm going to be getting some other basketball shoes this year as well.

Favorite quote

My favorite quote would have to be one quote from Kobe Bryant. That quote is "I cant relate to lazy people. We don't speak the same language. I don't understand you I don't want to understand you". What this quote means to me is I'm not lazy nor do I want to ever be lazy. I like this quote because it's motivational. Also because it's by my favorite basketball player Kobe Bryant he is a great basketball player. Also this quote motivates me to keep practicing everyday at basketball. So, all I do once I listen to this quote is just get motivated.

What i'm grateful for this year?

I'm grateful for the fact that I have a good family. One of the reasons why I am grateful for this is that not many people have families. Sometimes if they do their not very close to them. So, instead of taking your loved ones for granted talk to them and be grateful. Im lucky to have this privilege not only because they make me company but also because some people without family are lonely in this world. They may feel bitter because of it. Also, I am grateful for them because you never know when they'll be gone forever. In conclusion I am grateful for my family and the company they bring to me.

Election Reflection

My thoughts of this election made me really open my eyes to see how many people have the same thoughts alike as trump. But, although he is now our so called "president" doesn't mean he has power over every single life in America. Donald maybe our president  but if he wants to pass a law it has to go through congress first. My beliefs are that people like him shouldn't be able to be called our president. First off no type of experience as a politician second off he has some crazy ideas that won't workout. Also what type of president speaks without thinking he spits out everything that comes to his mind but that is quite very dangerous.

I am so disappointed in the election results. I just don't understand how people can be so ignorant. Why would you even consider to choose Donald as your president. I'm still in shock but there's nothing we can really do but wait to see the end of this. I hope Donald gets inpeached for his so called "Trump University" which was a total scam. I honestly wouldn't like to be in politics because I find it boring and also there's plenty corruption in politics. I just wouldn't want to be involved. Only to when it comes to choosing our president. I'm not excited but I will vote to choose our president. I think the most important thing when it comes to voting is to choose voters that are mature enough to vote. But now all I think of is the future.

Final

What would you do knowing  menacing clowns are roaming your streets ? Imagine walking home alone with thoughts of creepy clowns. But don't take this warning lightly because it's a real problem. This needs to be taken into consideration read on and be informed.

Not so long ago sometime in the evening something life threatening happened to a student. Back in River Forest Highschool Oak Park. A student had received a friend request on facebook by a clown. This student accepted the request but then was sent a threatening message. The message sent stated to "Beat them up" by having the clown go to the school. There has been a problem in Berwyn as well not far from Oak Park. You may ask yourself why should I care. Well that would be your call to either pay attention to the information in your neighborhood or ignore it. The people's children are in damaged and as long as you don't read information on it well then good luck with your kids. Be prudent and wise as can be keep an eye out.

At this instance the police of Berwyn is now involved this whole thing isn't a joke. Whoever is this crummy and  lousey person they are going to be found sooner or later. Be congnizant about this whole dilemma it's getting a bit out of hand. The people of Berwyn don't know who this buffoon is yet. We don't know why they are pulling this off but it's not a joke ever. Be aware of the circumstances therefore pay attention to your surroundings. All in all take care of your children and be looking around at all times.

Best day ever

The best day ever for me would have to be when it was my birthday. This would be the best day ever because I went to sixflags. Then I also went to eat at chilis and they gave me a chocolate cake with hot fudge and ice cream. After that we went back to six flags and went on the rides. My brother went to the carnival games there and won me a big unicorn from despicable me. After that we ate a funnel cake and went home watched a few movies and went to sleep. This was the best day ever because the next day we had a cook out and everyone gave me money it was good. That was the best day ever for me.

Outsiders character analysis

I chose Pony Boy as my character and I chose him because he has dealt with a few to a lot of things. Pony Boy has good looking traits he has light brown, almost red hair and greenish gray eyes. I feel like Pony Boy is good looking. Pony boy has to deal with his big brother Darry’s remarks about him I would say this is an external. Ponyboy’s parents died in a car crash and he is very smart out of the gang which he feels different that is more of an internal conflict though. I thought that was internal because he is fighting with himself not to cry in front of the gang. Moving on to a different way of looking at Pony boys perspective. In Chapter 3 Pony boy makes a pretty good point towards cherry and how some greasers do live up to being rough. But not all socs are stuck up and mean to the greasers then uses the words of “some of us watch the sunset". I felt like  Pony boy was showing a side of him that the greasers don't usually show.

Ponyboy is the most sensitive smartest member of the greasers and doesn’t really use violence or says bad words. But then Pony boy changes a little bit from time to time. Sometimes he just thinks about the rivalry there is between the socs and greasers and thinks he’s very fortunate because compared to johnny he doesn’t get beat by his parents and from the socs that bad. So Pony is grateful something the socks and other greasers aren't. Also when he goes into the abandoned church to save those kids shows real character. Sometimes he tries not to get down. Pony boy’s motivation is to make Darry proud of him at least one time or at least of him say he’s proud because he’s the smallest one out of all of them and is smart. Ponyboy doesn’t really use common sense when it comes down to conflicts or anything as Darry says he maybe smart but no common sense. But I still like Pony boy he's really different compared to the rest.

Throwback blog

When I was smaller I would love to watch a show on Disney channel called American dragon: jake long it was about a 13 year old boy who was a dragon but kept it a secret from his friends. Although he was a dragon he was in training it just shows all the mischief he would get into with his friends. I also grew up on a show called "hey Arnold!" This show was my favorite it had plenty of different adventures kids would get into. My childhood was great I remember getting up early just to watch all my cartoons before school. Just in the morning I'd watch all my cartoons starting from spongebob all the way to that's so raven. I would always get up and eat cereal with my brother while watching our cartoons. This is the greatest memories from my childhood I could ever keep. Or when it was my birthday all my friends and family would come we would have a cook out with my own bouncy house.

Blog Tips

I Chose the tips where you have to show pictures and also use facts and not make up things. I believe that this will help you as a blogger because you are giving your viewers facts and images. Using facts in blogging is one way to keep yourself and others interested in the topic. If you weren't to use facts I don't think people would like it because they would be being lied to. Also, when using images you grasp your viewers attention into keep reading your blog. If you don't use at least one of these tips your viewers are going to be dying of boredom. All in all i would choose bothe facts and images or pictures as good tips for blogging.

Where have I gone

I've gone to Mexico and honestly I love it. This is part of my culture and I just enjoy going there. I go to Mexico city just to see my grandma or maybe get trained in basketball. But, all the sightings in some places like downtown are beautiful. There's this angel in the middle of downtown and it's just amazing thing to see. It's big and tall and is lighten up at night with different colored lights which bring out its color gold. That's just a one part to top it all off the food is mouthwatering. The food is just so good for example the tacos in Mexico are made traditional. The sandwiches have melted white cheese, with cooked tomatoe, and ham with avocado, and to top it all off the but the bread on the grill with butter and warm it up. Just describing the whole thing made my mouth water. I might be going this year too as well. That's just a bit about where I have gone and want to go again.

Paper Towns

This book was a long book but good to read. I started off the book with two main characters Margo and Q. Quentin was deeply in love with Margo and as little kids they were friends. They grew up and kind of drifted apart from one another. Quentin still liked Margo but the didn't talk until one night. Margo came through Quentin's window and they went on a late night adventure.

That was a part of the book I enjoyed. I did like this part because it was like a mysterious type of romantic way. I don't really like love books but this book grasped my attention. At first I was having trouble trying to read it. But the book pulled me in it was intriguing.

Where I see myself in 10 years

My goal is to become a lawyer and be specialized in criminal cases. In 10 years I see myself graduating from law school and starting a whole new chapter in my life. What I want to be doing with my career in life is helping people out. But, also this is a huge thing for gaining money. If I get far enough I'd like to be in the WNBA. My dreams would have to be helping out my family and other people and getting to be proud of myself. Trust me on this part I am not undecided I know my goals and I know they way to reach them.
